This was also the exact year that she was employed as a waitress at An American Place. Guarnaschelli began her culinary career in the kitchen watching mom, who was in charge of editing cookbooks, test many recipes. Following her time working with Larry Forgione, she worked at several restaurants such as Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot in New York France Los Angeles. Guarnaschelli eventually became the executive chef at Butter. Guarnaschelli is a Food Network Iron Chef America contestant who competed against Cat Cora for the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 during Iron Chef America. She has since appeared as Judge on the show and, in 2011, competed on The Next Iron Chef season four in which she came in as the third runner-up. Additionally, she was eliminated in her final competition, the Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast. After the fourth season, she was Geoffrey Zakarian's sous chef. She also hosted The Food Network program The Cooking Loft along with Alex Guarnaschelli. In this program, she taught a bunch of student chefs on how to create new dishes from scratch.
